Bringing the perfect blend of horror and sci-fi to the big screen, Paramount Pictures’ new prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One premiered worldwide on 28 June 2024. As the Michael Sarnoski film gives us another perspective into A Quiet Place’s post-apocalyptic world, it has heightened anticipation regarding A Quiet Place Part 3, which has been in the pipeline for a while now.
Yes, Paramount is currently working on A Quiet Place 3, which will continue and possibly conclude the story of the Abbott family. It was officially confirmed in 2022, and initially set for a 2025 release, but there have been erratic changes to this plan.
As mentioned in an EW’s report in February 2024, the previously announced 2025 release has been altered. Since then, there hasn’t been any further information provided. Therefore, we can assume that the third instalment is still in progress.
It is expected that John Krasinski will return to write and direct the third instalment. However, while we await more updates, here is everything you need to know about the horror threequel.
Who’s joining the cast of ‘A Quiet Place Part 3′?
The surviving members of the Abbott family, including Emily Blunt as Evelyn, Millicent Simmonds as Regan, and Noah Jupe as Marcus, are expected to make a comeback. Cillian Murphy‘s character, Emmett, who forms a fatherly bond with Regan and aids her in fighting against the aliens, is also likely to return.
While it’s uncertain, there is a possibility of John Krasinski – the film director – reprising his role as Lee Abbott through flashbacks, as seen in the sequel’s cold open. However, Djimon Hounsou’s character, Man on Island (now known as Henri), will not be making an appearance in part 3 as he died in 2020’s A Quiet Place: Part II.

What could be the potential plot of ‘A Quiet Place Part 3′?
The plot of A Quiet Place 3 remains a mystery at this point. However, we can analyse the storyline of the sequel to speculate on what future stories may unfold.
In the second movie, the focus was on Regan’s mission to follow a radio signal that plays ‘Beyond the Sea’ repeatedly. She aims to use the signal to broadcast the feedback from her hearing aid, which is effective against the aliens. Despite Evelyn’s objections, Regan sets out with Emmett to reach the island where the signal originates. Along the way, they encounter other survivors and face danger, but eventually find safety on the island where humans have been living protected from the aliens. However, chaos ensues when an alien infiltrates the island, leading to a tense showdown. Regan manages to kill the alien using the feedback from her hearing aid, saving her family back at Emmett’s bunker.
The movie ends with the radio station transmitting the signal, leaving the extent of its reach uncertain. So, the third movie will likely pick up this thread as the humans fight back.
Do we have a release date for ‘A Quiet Place Part 3’?
The upcoming movie was initially aimed to hit the theatres in 2025, but we’re still waiting for an official release date.
However, it’s unlikely that it will arrive in 2025 now.
