How do I control my Sony WF-1000XM4? ›

Play/Pause: Tap the touch sensor. Skip to the beginning of the next track: Tap the touch sensor twice quickly (with an interval of about 0.3 seconds). Skip to the beginning of the previous track (or the current track during playback): Tap the touch sensor 3 times quickly (with an interval of about 0.3 seconds).

Play/Pause: Tap the touch sensor control panel twice quickly (with an interval of about 0.4 seconds). Skip to the beginning of the next track: Swipe forward and release. Skip to the beginning of the previous track (or the current track during playback): Swipe backward and release. Fast-forward: Swipe forward and hold.

Tap the touch sensor on the left unit to change the settings of the noise canceling function. Each time you tap, the function switches as follows. You will hear the voice guidance say, “Ambient sound”. You will hear the voice guidance say, “Noise canceling”.

You can switch the settings and check the sound quality mode with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. Priority on sound quality mode: Prioritizes the sound quality. Priority on stable connection mode: Prioritizes the stable connection (default).

Turn on the headset. You will hear the voice guidance say, “Power on”. The noise canceling function is turned on automatically.

Double tap to play or pause. Swipe forward for the next track. Swipe backward for the previous track.

If any water droplets are left in the sound conduits, air holes, or microphone holes (in 2 locations), sound level becomes low temporarily, but this is not a malfunction. See “When you have finished using the headset” and dry the headset before use. Reset the headset.

You can use the touch sensor on either the left or right unit to perform the following operations. When only one unit of the headset is worn on your ear, operate the headset on the unit that is worn. Tap the touch sensor twice quickly to answer a call.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.

In this case, turn the headset on by tapping the touch sensor of the headset or by putting the headset into your ears. The headset will also turn on when it is set into the charging case and then removed from the charging case.
